The wealth of art and culture of the Nation shall be national assets that cannot be found anywhere in the world. One of the dominant cultural heritages should be traditional houses with various forms of architectures, not just because of the beauty of their architectures, but also because of the traditional cultures of the regions forming the background of them.
The unity of the houses and cultures is shown in the architectures united with all activities of human life living in them. All of them can be seen in Tongkonan Toraja, Saoraja Bugis Makassar, Rumah Bolon Batak, Rumah Gadang Minangkabau , and other traditional houses found in various regions.
By knowing traditional architectures and the background of the cultures, we , then, can expect the survival of the traditional houses of every cultural region.
